The challenge
Choosing an appliance from a photo
National Product Review gives consumers clear, simple insight into the latest technology, innovation and design, so they can work out which products suit their lifestyle, with no pressure to buy.
But seeing how a product will look and fit in your own home has always been the gap retailers struggle to close, and buyer's remorse is the cost.
What we built
View in your home, from the product page
With Plattar, National Product Review lets consumers sample products on its website with WebAR: choose a variation or colour, then tap to see it in their own home before they buy. The program launched by bringing 100 popular products into shoppers' homes in the lead-up to Christmas 2019, and brands across the range use it to show size, fit and features:
- Westinghouse cooktops. The range in the customer's own kitchen with a single tap, showing features and the differences between models.
- De'Longhi La Specialista. Placed on the bench to check it fits, with animations bringing its features to life.
- TCL sound bars. Sized up in the living room, alongside the features that matter.
- Fujifilm and Nespresso. The X-T100 camera and Nespresso coffee machines, placed in the shopper's own space.

The result
The confidence to buy online
Shoppers understand size, fit and features before they buy, which reduces the risk of buyer's remorse, and there is no app to download.
We'll build you a bespoke demo around your own website and your own range, the same way we built this one.
