The challenge
Increase buyer confidence
Manufacturing, displaying and photographing every bike in every configuration was never practical or cost-effective. Customers had to visit a showroom to try the bikes and talk through configurations with staff.
Single Speed Cycles wanted to raise its ecommerce game and personalise the buying experience: show the full range online, let customers explore looks, colours and configurations to find the right bike and size, and show how the bike fits at home without reaching for a tape measure. All of it had to live up to the in-store experience its dedicated followers already knew.
What we built
A pilot, then the whole range
Single Speed Cycles and Plattar built an interactive 3D product viewer and a WebAR View in Home function, integrated with the retailer's ecommerce platform. On each product page, customers explore size, colours, finishes and features, then tap View in Home to place the bike in their own space through their phone camera, correct to scale.
After a successful pilot, the move into production was immediate, and the team started rolling more products onto Plattar straight away. For Single Speed Cycles, that means:
- A stronger product connection, earlier, with a new way to engage with each bike.
- Design and technical detail in clear 3D, with annotations on the key features.
- More ways to buy, with View in Home experiences that link straight to checkout.
- A virtual showroom that scales to the entire range.
- A platform it runs itself, with low maintenance and access to Plattar's 3D content pipeline.
The result
An immediate impact
Dwell time doubled, and add-to-cart rose by 30%.
“The quality of our products in 3D is exceptional and reflects the standard we at Single Speed Cycles aim to provide. Working with Plattar has had an immediate impact on our business. They have provided us with an efficient one-stop solution to all our 3D and AR needs, today and in the future.”
